I would describe my approach to counseling to be collaborative, solution focused, and integrative focusing on mind, body, and spirit. My intention is to create a safe, supportive, non-judgmental space where we can identify goals, strengths, learn new skills/methods to handle emotions, explore new perspectives, and discover your own answers bringing clarity. I grew up in New York and from a young age always had a deep interest and passion for mental and physical health and well-being. In my 20's I ran two marathons but as I entered my mid 30's and now 40 I spend a lot more time meditating. As a child and adolescent I experienced personal suffering and learned first hand that if we tap into our inner-strength, resiliency, without ever giving up we can turn adversity into opportunities for growth, wisdom, love, compassion, gratitude, and a multitude of other good qualities. Recently I was living in SE Asia for 6 years and rather than focusing on our differences believe that we can all embrace each other through altruism and understanding that everyone wants to be happy and does not want to suffer. Nothing brings me greater joy than to connect heart to heart.
